Hiya kids!
Autumn is here and Halloween is just around the corner. Yippee! I've been a busy craft kitty trying to get ready for the season.
Here is a smattering of my crafty efforts thus far.
Behold!
These are some dollar store artificial pumpkins and gourds that I glittered. I've glittered so much, I now want to glitter everything I see.

Next my Sister and I are making a googly eyed feather boa wreath for Mom's office.

Not pictured are the t-shirts we made last week for us and my nieces. I'll see about rounding them up and getting a pic.
For now I'm being beckoned by the 2 y/o with "Aaaaa-me! Come outside and pet Murray Sparkles!!" Murray Sparkles is the tabby kitten who adopted my Sister. He has to stay outside, because she has bad asthma and allergies.
Here's a few pics of Gracie and Murray for good measure

Waiting for Aunt Amy to come out and play

Mmm braaaii...I mean bloooobeerrries!

An Action shot of Murray Sparkles! He's not a fan of sitting still

Quit video store. Got a new job making donuts.
They're not from scratch, which sort of sucks. I do, however, get to play with sprinkles, drizzle brightly colored icing everywhere, and bake in an oven bigger than a phone booth! It's like a really hot silver Tardis!! Oh, if only it made the whooshing sounds... I work from 4am-1pm most days. Being an insomniac, it has been a bit hard adjusting but I find I run pretty well on 5 hours of sleep.
Going to see Kate Nash with Kimmy on Wednesday! YAY!
Going to Ohio Thursday-Monday with Missy and family to visit Grandparents.
Gracie is 18 mths old now! She is still the cutest baby in the entire history of babies. She says my name now and it is so sweet it gives me cavities everytime. Besides Mommy and Daddy, mine was officialy the first name she said. Yup, I'm awesome. ^_^ She's got Missy's temper, but only really has a "fit" when forced to come inside from playing. I laugh a little to myself when I think of them butting heads when Gracie's about 12 or 13. heehee
Now, I must fiddle with my Netflix queue a bit more and then find some dinner.

After what feels like a lifetime of car hunting, I finally bought I car! I am the proud owner of a 1988 Cadillac Sedan Deville! That's right, a big ole Cadillac! Big Pimpin', baby! Only 138,000 miles, 2 owners (son then 72 y/o father), only the tiniest patch of rust(a big deal on Northern cars, what with our salty roads and all), runs and rides beautifully! Best of all I only paid $750 for my new Caddy!! I love my new car! ^_^
I drove out to Port Huron and spent the day with Missy and Gracie, it was wonderful! Gracie has 2 teeth, is crawling all over the place, and is getting pretty good at standing up already. I know she's my niece, but she's still the cutest baby in the history of babies! ^_^
Also, I got my hair cut to about the bottom of my ears! It's cute and supa curly! I think I might keep it like this for a bit.
Pictures of everything coming soon!!

What's not to love?
I just got back from seeing Grindhouse! I fucking love this movie!! I get all girly and ummm...let's just say giggly ^_-, just thinking about it. I wish I was in Atlanta so I could see it with people who truly get and share my excitement. Not that Chessie doesn't, but she hasn't really seen many of the movies that inspired Grindhouse. So, yeah...
I think I like Planet Terror a little better than Death Proof, but I kind of knew I would. I usually like the Robert Rodriguez parts of the movies they do together better than the Tarantino parts. Plus Planet Terror has Rose Mcgowan with a machine gun leg, a zombie like outbreak, Michael Biehn being all gruff and Tom Savini. What's not to like, right? ^_-
Although, Death Proof has Kurt Russel with a yummy scar and kick ass car, bad ass bitches reminiscent of a Russ Meyer movie(but not as fab, of course), and a rockin car chase. So hard to pick a favorite. And the trailers in between... I wish they really were movies! I can't wait for the DVD! Fuck, I love cheesy 70's movies!! Maybe with the success of this movie, more will become available on DVD. A girl can only hope...
GO SEE GRINDHOUSE!! It's the most fun I've had at the movies in a long time!

After much procrastination, I finally took my road test and got my driver's license. *dance dance* I've already started looking for another job, but must wait until I find a car to actually take this next step. The car shouldn't take too long, many feelers have been put out. Woohoo! I can't wait to say adios to the videos!
On a sadder note, my computer died. I know it was ancient, but it served me well and it'll be missed. My BIL, Tony, has been kind enough to loan me his until I can get a new one. Thank goodness it's tax time! ^_^
Ok, must make tea and finish watching 21 Jump Street so I can send it back to Netflix. Laters!

You have to try Tio Pepe's Hot Ice! It's spicy and icy all at the same time!
There are two flavors in the box, tamarind and chamoy(apricot). The apricot is my favorite. It's fruitiness makes the spice sneaky, and we all know how I feel about sneaky spices. ^_^ Despite it's unsavory coloring, the tamarind is yummy, less sweet, and the spice is right there up front with the sort of grape-like tamarind.
The only down side is you have to go to your local Super Wal-Mart to find these wonderful tubes of spicy goodness. I know they're the enemy, but Tio Pepe makes damn fine hot ice!
In further food news, I made cranberry sauce tonight. I decided not to do my usual Gingerfied Dish of Crantasticness(Crantastiocity? hmmm...). Instead, I made a basic one only adding a little orange zest, orange juice, and fresh cracked black pepper. It's still very yummy! So yummy in fact that I put some of it still warm on one of these little molten chocolate cakes Mom bought. Sooo good!
Oh, how I love that lil red berry... Why does the cranberry get so much sand kicked in it's face? Booga! What is it going to take for people to embrace the cranberry? A revolution? hmm...
...off to write my manifesto! D ready the armbands!!

There is a Pucca cartoon on Toon Disney's Jetix!!! How long has this been going on and why for the love of all things shiny and red have I not been told about this?

Today I took the written portion of the test and passed with flying colors! I have to wait 30 days to take the driving portion, as it seems they've no record of my previous driving adventures.
Confused? Here's a little back story...
When I lived in ATL my license expired and GA wanted me to jump through hoops to transfer the darn thing. Already being a MARTA rider, I just got a GA ID and went on my merry way. Yes, I've had no driver's license for about 8 years, go ahead I'll wait...*shock shock, horror, horror*
Anyhow, when I moved back to MI public transportation was no longer my friend. So, after much procrastination(which I rock at by the by) and a little kick in the ass from my family, steps started to be taken to make me mobile again. Now you know and knowing is half the battle! GO JOE!!

Has anyone else been watching the World Cup? Thanks to my having 3 days off in a row last week and working at 6 the other nights, I've been glued to the screen for most matches. If you haven't been watching, you've missed some really great matches!
I hate listening to the American commentators though. They're boring, talk a bit too much about useless crap, and use that canned sports announcer voice. Grrr! Thank goodness for the odd game with Adrian Healey and Tommy Smyth, the international commentators. They make it interesting, besides Tommy makes me laugh with his lil Irish self. ^_^
Before it even started I found myself rooting for Australia, much to the chagrin of my co-worker Andrew. Andrew has been trying for months to convince me that Brazil is far superior and more deserving of my support. Bah! There has always been something about Australia/NZ that draws me to it and apparently the same is true with it's soccer team.
My brain is shutting down for want of sleep, so I'm gonna give in for once.
Besides is Australia vs Italy at 10:55 and that only gives me a few hours to sleep!
*SQUEE* Soooo excited!!

Well, it's official. I am another year older. I had a fantastic birthday and I got a 2 day celebration, to boot!
Saturday, Missy and her bunch took me to see Over the Hedge. I think Missy and I laughed more than the 5 y/o! ^_^ When we came home Mom had decorated the table with Hello Kitty plates and things, a cool red japanese looking vase containing different daisies, and big balloons(yay!). No one had had lunch and my unborn nephew needed nourishment. So, we got some Koegel viennas(the yummiest hot dogs, for those outside of Michigan), chips, Hawaiian Punch and gas for grilling. Avery blew bubbles, Tony grilled, and I decided we should have our picnic under the tree out front. Afterward, we had ice cream cake with Hello Kitty on top!! You're never too old for Hello Kitty!
The weather was cooler today so, Mom took me to the Greek Festival in Saginaw. We had the yummiest food(FLAMING CHEESE!), took a tour of their beautiful church, watched some dancing, and managed not to get hit by any seagull bombs. I think Mom has formed an addiction to the fried honey puffs, though. ^_^
This birthday was just what I needed, simple family fun. Thanks again to Missy, Tony, Avery, and Mom for making it so special!

I think I'll have to agree with this quiz. I think the love of B-movies pushed me from Perky to Death Rocker. But I can't deny my love of all things zombified. ^_^

Has anyone seen the trailer for the movie Marie Antoinette. It's directed by Sofia Coppola, starring Kirstin Dunst and Jason Schwartzman, and the trailer was just images with New Order's "Age of Consent" playing. My brain is confused. I know I'm not suppose to actually be excited about this movie. I know I'm suppose to be shaking my fists or something, but...nope, nothing.
Maybe it's because the trailer had no dialog, maybe it was the dizzying combination of period costumes and New Order. Maybe I'm just a little wacky from the seemingly endless showings of Valmont and Impromptu, that I of course keep watching even the tiniest bit I can catch, on Showtime this week. Whatever it is, the trailer made me excited. Except the title card, which was like the pink spray-paint stenciled lettering of some Hot Topic "punk" t-shirt.
Oh, I'm so confused! ^_^
OOH, OOH!! I almost forgot! I finally saw the new X-men trailer!!! YUM!
Also, soon with the pictures...promise.

A long time ago I posted about The Magic Roundabout movie being made a movie in the UK. If you recall, I was very excited and couldn't wait for the DVD goodness. I'm also now in complete denial over this whole "Let's rename it and change all the voice actors, to market the movie to an American audience" business. I want to eat the face of the idiot that thought of that gem!
I am however pleased as punch to finally after all these years have Roundabout toys! Ahhh, Happy Meal, glorious Happy Meal...Not since the promise of Hello Kitty toys have you made me this happy.
Y'know all I really want is an Ermintrude toy, of course...I do so love her and her twirly flower.
k, yeah...umm, I've really nothing else to report. G'nite! ^_^

Right now I feel like Anushka. I can see her sitting in some cold Russian flat on a dreary day, bundled up in many layers including her red blanket, half finger gloves, and fuzzy hat, wishing she had her beloved laptop(damn the man!*it's a long story, for those who have no idea*), drinking a steaming cup of strong tea, thinking of her friends in The Specialists and where they might be just now, listening to some traditional music full of woe and remembrance, while watching the snow fall gently outside her window. Like a scene from a Russian novel or something.
Sadly, the truth is far less romantic. I'm sitting in front of my computer on a dreary day in Michigan, wearing fuzzy red socks and a big red sweater, listening to snippets of the Everything is Illuminated soundtrack(which is much like the music I imagine Nushie listening to), drinking a cup of sort of room temp tea, remembering friends, trying to not feel as sick as I actually am since I have to go into work even though today was suppose to be my day off, all while watching the snow fall furiously and without even an ounce of poetry. It's nothing like those tragic Russian novels. No Dr. Zhivago for me today.
Why did I agree to work today, when I knew I was sick and could barely be there last night? Because of the missing of planes and the not working on Tuesday, but mostly GUILT. Damn my conscience.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share my little fantasy with you, now I must get ready for work.
Look for an update about my trip soon, possibly with pictures!

I could quite possibly have the greatest sister in the history of sisters!! Guess who's big sis got her a trip to Atlanta for Christmas! Mine, that's who!! *SQUEEEE*
The trip is this weekend, so I'll be there for New Years. Nothing much is planned except oodles of visits and a big bowl of pho. I'm not worried though, D and I have a knack for finding the trouble...er, I mean fun. ^_^
So, if you're in Atl and want to give me a squish or just wave at me like a mad muppet let me know.
I'm so excited, I think I could 'splode any second! Red glitter and confetti everywhere...goodness me.
Off to bed, must work early tomorrow.
